Blast Off on a Supersized Adventure in Astro Bot on a X3100i Gaming Projector

Astro Bot is the long-awaited sequel to Astro’s Playroom, a PS5 exclusive 3D platform game that uses the interactions of the DualSense controller to the fullest. It was released as a celebration of PlayStation’s 30^th anniversary and includes numerous game references, both new and old, filling players with joyful nostalgia. With over 50 planets to explore, hundreds of bots to rescue, and hidden trophies & levels to unlock, it’s time to make the most of Astro’s new adventure with the X3100i 4K gaming projector, supported by BenQ CinematicSound and CinematicColor Technology. Astro is back for a supersized adventure, rescuing the bot crew and repairing the PS5 mothership after a crash landing in an unknown galaxy. From the lands to the seas to the skies, Astro must traverse unique landscapes and learn how to use new powerups to defeat bosses and unlock secret levels. The galaxies display color vibrancy on a new level, with deeper blues, brighter reds, and crisper greens. When supported with the right gaming accessory, such as the X3100i 4K gaming projector, these vibrant colors with stun you with their beauty, creating the ultimate immersive gaming experience. In the two images below, you can see the color depth of the galaxies contrasted with the stars and different colors of the worlds. Reds in particular pop on the X3100i, but the colors of each world stand out without having to compete.

After completing a world and rescuing every bot, you can go back to the crash site and use the bots to help you unlock secrets and trophies or complete the puzzles to access new outfits and speeder paint designs. The bots are also working hard on rebuilding the PS5 mothership, but they need you to put together the CPU after fighting off the alien! Every corner of this game is filled with things to do, and Astro will happily dance his way through each challenge with your assistance. Gear up for this supersized adventure and expand Astro’s world with the large projected image a gaming projector provides. 

The game takes advantage of the DualSense wireless controller’s haptic feedback and built-in speaker to immerse you in the hands-on action of the game. When paired with the CinematicSound enhanced audio and crisp 4K visuals on the X3100i, your Astro Bot gameplay will be a fully immersive experience from the palm of your hand to the walls of your room. 

With over 50 planets to explore, the game features new challenges with its enemies and traversal abilities in each level. The themes of each world are unique as well, with color tones that range from vibrant to neon to misty. In the two examples below, you can see how the X3100i enhances the colorful visuals for each level by bringing out the crisp blue tones of the sky (left) and the red undertones of the mist (right). Astro’s colors and custom outfits pop as well, with his blue always shining (right) or his outfits bringing new color tones to his ensemble (left).

Astro has gone on many adventures before, from his initial journey in Astro’s Playroom to his VR adventure in Astro Bot Rescue Mission, but this game signifies a new beginning for his journey and shows off the power of the PS5. It is also twice the length of the original game, expanding its potential and building up the story to its epic conclusion. Though it’s a level-based game, it includes cutscenes to expand the story and introduce new challenges for each galaxy. Despite having no dialogue, Astro’s face is extremely expressive and conveys his emotions clearly. On a smaller screen, you may miss out on these expressions during battles or interactions with other characters, but with the ability to project an image up to 200 inches, the X3100i ensures you catch every detail of Astro’s expressive face.

With over 150 iconic PlayStation heroes to rescue, and game-specific feature levels that highlight PlayStation hits, join in this celebration of PlayStation’s history and re-experience some of your favorite games in bot form! Some of the games included are God of War, Persona 3, Death Stranding, Tekken, and Yakuza, and once you pair the character with their item they will perform unique actions that reference game moments. The game also allows you to bring over some bots from Astro’s Playroom, including Lady Maria (Bloodborne), Selene (Returnal), a Gran Turismo racer, and a Pipo Monkey (Ape Escape).

With significant attributes for each character, and the enhanced colors of the X3100i, it’s easy to recognize familiar faces and action with great attention having gone into their creation. Aigis from Persona 3 (top left) has her detailed outfit down to her bright red bow. The Hunter from Bloodborne (top right) has his trademark hat and is ready to fight while Lady Maria dozes off in her chair. Kratos from God of War (bottom left) wields his Leviathan Axe and has his bright red tattoo. Alucard from Castlevania is trying to fix his bedhead and go back to sleep in his casket.
