The day has finally arrived. As of May 29, 2025, the native GeForce NOW app is officially available on the Steam Deck. GeForce NOW is a cloud-based gaming service that lets you stream games on your Steam Deck.

It allows you to play games that your Steam Deck might not support due to hardware limits and run games you already own using NVIDIA’s powerful cloud servers.

Yes, GeForce NOW offers a free membership tier that lets you try cloud gaming without any upfront cost. With a free account, you can play for up to one hour per session—perfect for testing how well it runs on your setup or casually jumping into a game. Just sign up, log in, and you're ready to stream.

Visit the download page (https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce-now/download/) in Desktop Mode (Steam button > Power > Switch to Desktop)

Once downloaded, double click to execute the “GeForceNOW_Setup” file. The setup file will install GeForce NOW and restart the Steam app to add shortcuts.

When it’s done, close the window and return to Gaming Mode. Now, you will see “GeForce NOW” in your “NON-STEAM” library.

To use the trackpad like a mouse, update your controller settings:

1. Launch GeForce NOW.

2. Press the “Steam” button on the left side of your device.

3. Select “Controller Settings.”

After the tutorial, find "Current Button Layout" and set it to "Gamepad with Mouse Trackpad", then press "Edit Layout" to customize your controls.

Set the "Right Trackpad Click" to "Mouse" and select "Left Mouse Click".
