Final Fantasy XVI, developed and published by Square Enix, is a 2023 PS5 exclusive action role-playing game that swept fans away with its stunning cinematics and emotional story. It won Best Score & Music at the 2023 Game of the Year awards, received extremely positive feedback since its initial release, and recently had two DLC’s released that expand upon the original story. With such a large world to explore and beautiful cutscenes to watch, the best way to experience this game is with a 4K BenQ gaming projector. The X3100i projector provides true-to-life colors, can project a screen up to 150in, and auto-adjusts settings for each game you play, making it the perfect choice for Final Fantasy XVI. Welcome to the BenQ Game Zone Series!

The Main Story

For centuries, the lands of Valisthea have been home to the Mothercrystals, providing blessings of magic to people’s everyday lives. However, as aether fades from the lands, kingdoms go to war to take control of what’s left of the livable lands and the crystals power. In order to save the land, Clive must destroy the crystals and turn himself into an outcast for a better future. From the moment you see them to the moment they’re destroyed, the crystals radiate a stunning beauty that’s enhanced by the BenQ CinematicColor technology available on the X3100i. Every shimmer of the crystals as they reflect the light of the lands and sparkling details as they burst into thousands of pieces is clearly visible with the crisp colors and high brightness of the projector.

The crystals are not the only things in the game that stand out on the X3100i. With its stunning graphics and cinematic cutscenes, Final Fantasy XVI offers the opportunity for a fully immersive and detailed gaming experience. With some of the land being consumed by the Blight, the game creators had to put contrasting details of the vibrant landscape alongside the darkness of the consumed lands. In the image to the right, you can see the contrast on the map, with a clear distinction that’s enhanced by the crisp details provided by the X3100i. Even though some areas are full of life and others have perished, every area of the game is full of vivid details that tell the tale of the lands of Valisthea.

Since you can play as the Eikons, they’ve been given extremely detailed and unique designs to show off their beauty and power. For example, Garuda was designed to portray beauty with sharp talons, feathers that flow as she flies, and a sleek body for aerodynamics while Titan was designed to portray power with a larger body, distinct muscles, and rock-like features. They also have distinct color palettes that directly relate to the power they hold, which are enhanced by the true-to-life colors on the X3100i. In the image to the left, you can see every crisp detail of the claws and horns of Ifrit and vibrant fire-red color that highlights the abilities and strengths of this Eikon of fire. Each eikon is visually stunning and the battles display their stunning might and mastery of their elements as their attacks match their color palettes.

Final Fantasy XVI is a visually stunning game with a well-rounded story, a huge world worth exploring, and incredible music during quests and battles. The colors of the lands and Eikons is comes to life with CinematicColor technology and the score throughout the game is enhance by CinematicSound technology. With the power of the gods at his fingertips, Clive’s journey is a cinematic masterpiece that needs to be experienced with an immersive gaming projector. Explore the lands, save the world, and master the Eikon’s on a X3100i. If you played the game originally on a monitor or TV, continue the adventure on a gaming projector with the two new DLC’s.

Echoes of the Fallen

Echoes of the Fallen is the first of two available DLC’s for Final Fantasy XVI. In order to access this DLC, which consist of one quest, you’ll need to unlock Origin as a destination and complete two quests: “Where There’s a Will” and “Priceless.” With this new quest comes a new discoverable area. Though shrouded in the sorrow of the Blight, the ancient Fallen facility lights up the sky as it wakes up to defend itself. With the color quality of BenQ CinematicColor technology, every crystal and sparkle of magic stands out clear in this dark tower. The energy that runs through the enemies is enhanced by these true-to-life colors on the X3100i, and the boss battle is stunningly vibrant.

Though the battles in this DLC are considerably difficult, especially the fabricated Eikon battle, Clive relies primarily on his absorbed Eikon abilities instead of utilizing Ifrit. At this point you have the choice of Eikon ability to use, but each have different ultimate attacks that require charging up and being able to see them charge is crucial. In the image to the right, you can see the Eikon Odin’s ability Zantetsuken being charged up for battle to swiftly defeat enemies or do significant damage to a boss. With so much going on at once, being able to distinguish between indicators on the screen is crucial to success in battle, and the vibrance of the X3100i you’ll have an advantage over your enemies.

This DLC is a single quest that does not directly affect the original ending of the game, but is required to play the next DLC, The Rising Tide. This DLC is a great expansion of the story’s lore and reminds players of the importance of Clive’s mission. Even if you played the main game on a monitor or TV, don’t miss your chance to experience this incredible expansion of the adventure on the X3100i.

The Rising Tide

The Rising Tide is the second of two available DLC’s for Final Fantasy XVI. In order to access this DLC, which consists of a main storyline and smaller quests, you’ll need to unlock Origin as a destination and complete the quest “Priceless” in the main storyline. Leviathan, the long lost Eikon of Water, has reappeared as the mysterious people of Mysidia are looking to save him from his imprisonment. Clive, Jill, and Joshua explore the lands and work to save Leviathan from his own rage, unlocking new beautiful areas not touched by the Blight. Full of green mountain ranges, blue skies, rippling tides, and blue flowers by every water source, these lands are a refreshing change to explore. With 4K visuals and BenQ CinematicColor technology on the X3100i, you can explore these new areas that are bustling with life and color.

Frozen in time, the Warden of Water, Waljas, is merely a newborn with a raging Eikon inside who was set on the destruction of Mysidia after sensing the people’s selfish and cruel intentions for it. Clive plans to ease the child’s burden by removing Leviathan, but the angry Eikon will not be as easy to handle as he expected. In the image to the right, you can see the crisp details of the rip tide Leviathan created in a burst of rage. At the center, when the bright blue beam shines, is Waljas, mid-cry and waiting to be released. On a monitor or TV, you might miss the detailed water droplets or shine of the blue beam, but on the X3100i and a large projected image, you won’t miss a single detail of this stunning yet tragic sight.

Each time Clive removes an Eikon from its dominant he gains their abilities, though he cannot fully transform into each dominant. The Eikon’s all have low-level and high-level abilities, and as you collect them the Abilities menu fills up. Even though each Eikon is represented by their distinct color and an outline, pictured left, being able to clearly see everything on a larger screen will help you decide who to use and what to power-up. With CinematicColor on the X3100i, you can easily navigate this menu and upgrade abilities to aid you in crucial battles.

Levithan is not the only Eikon available in the DLC, but the last one is something you should discover yourself as you go on this epic adventure with a fully immersive gaming projector.

Even though the two DLC’s don’t change the original ending of the story, both quests greatly enhance the overall story and provide some information for fans who were left with questions.
