COSTA MESA, California, Angust 30, 2024 – BenQ, a global leader in display solutions for education, today announces the launch of its newest interactive displays, the BenQ Board Essential RE04 series, which has the lowest power consumption of any ENERGY STAR® certified smart board on the market.
The BenQ Board Essential RE04 in 65-, 75-, and 86-inch models has earned ENERGY STAR certification for its market-leading energy efficiency. The average power consumption for these sizes is:
RE6504 (65”): 66.7 watts
RE7504 (75”): 73.9 watts
RE8604 (86”): 106.8 watts
“Achieving this certification demonstrates our continued commitment to environmental sustainability and creating a greener future for all while still delivering unparalleled education technology solutions,” says Claire Huang, Assistant Vice President of BenQ’s Cloud Innovation Center and Large Display Business Unit.
In addition to energy-efficient hardware, BenQ Boards also feature software solutions for schools to reduce their power consumption. This includes using the board’s ENERGY STAR certified Eco picture mode and the ability for IT admins to remotely schedule startup and shutdown times, apply sleep mode policies, and view real-time energy reports, all from the BenQ Device Management Solution (DMS) console.
All the essentials for interactive learning
The new EDLA-certified RE04 series is a smart, simple, and secure education technology solution that features built-in AI tools for greater accessibility, including handwriting recognition, text to speech, optical character recognition, and more.
The RE04 series is the first series of Essential boards to feature split-screen functionality, and will include multi-window mode in Q3 2024. This will allow teachers to display various sources and apps on the board simultaneously for enhanced learning experiences.
Other innovative features of the RE04 series include:
Built-in 8 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage
An SD card slot with cover for an additional 512 GB of expandable storage
Two 20W speakers for immersive sound
An OPS PC slot for teachers to use Windows natively on the board
65W USB-C charging
Your very own teaching space
Teachers can quickly and securely access their personalized teaching spaces with BenQ Boards. They can simply scan a QR code on any BenQ Board for instant login via the BenQ Account Management System (AMS).
Schools can also upgrade to RE04F or RE04FV boards, which both have a built-in NFC reader. With these, teachers can simply tap an NFC card on the board to log in. This streamlined process ensures privacy and efficiency, allowing educators to focus on what matters most: teaching.
Teachers enjoy complete privacy and convenience with BenQ Boards. Once logged in, they'll find all their essential tools at their fingertips, including connected cloud drives, frequently used apps, and bookmarks. Their account is private, too, which means no one else can see their cloud drives, apps, or even browser history.
To bridge the gap with remote learners, the RE04FV features a built-in 4K camera with auto-focus and a Sony image sensor for crisp visuals. The board’s built-in EZWrite whiteboard also supports cloud whiteboarding, including using Google Classroom, so students can see annotations and collaborate from anywhere.
IT just got easier
IT administrators can effortlessly sync existing teacher accounts and manage user lists for their BenQ Boards. By using BenQ Identity and Access Management (IAM), they can provision accounts by syncing their school’s existing directory services, including ClassLink, Google Workspace, Microsoft Entra ID, LDAP, or SAML-based user lists.
Enroll new boards just as easily by scanning the device’s serial number with the DMS app, or by importing a CSV file through DMS, to save valuable time.
Once set up, IT gains complete control over their fleet of boards with DMS. IT can remotely manage boards from anywhere by scheduling firmware updates, blocking apps, including the Google Play Store, controlling display settings, and more.
Healthier learning starts here
The BenQ Board RE04 also features BenQ ClassroomCare® for healthier teaching and learning. The board’s eye care technologies include a low blue light and flicker-free 4K display that is fitted with an anti-glare screen. Combined, they help to reduce eye strain while maintaining crisp, vivid visuals.
The board also features a TÜV-certified anti-microbial coating on the screen that eliminates up to 99.9% of common germs. In addition, the IEC 60529-compliant screen offers IP5X dust protection to prevent dust from accumulating in the board.
