FAQs
What is BenQ IAM?
BenQ IAM (Identity and Access Management) is a centralized user account provisioning portal and single sign-on solution designed to simplify user account management, enhance security, and reduce IT staff workload in schools.
What makes BenQ IAM different?
Many EDLA-certified boards do not have their own identity and access management solution. This allows anyone with a Google account to log in and use their board, which can then expose their data and networks to security risks. Our exclusive, free-to-use BenQ IAM solution allows administrators to regulate access, ensuring that only authorized users can access your boards and sync with your directory services.
Can I use my school directory service to provision user accounts?
Yes. You can provision user accounts by syncing with Microsoft Entra ID, Google Workspace, ClassLink, Clever, and other LDAP or SAML-based directory services.
Can I control user access to the board?
Yes. You can enable Authentication mode on the BenQ Device Management Solution (DMS) to allow only authorized users to access the board. Learn more about this setting here.
What is Authentication mode?
Authentication mode is an account management setting that allows IT administrators to restrict access to BenQ Boards to only authorized users. This feature ensures that students and visitors cannot tamper with the display.
Can I prevent users from changing the BenQ Board settings?
Yes. You can prevent users from modifying BenQ Board settings by assigning them the Restricted user role. You can learn more about this setting here.
