當提到電影畫面時,第一個想到的就是是否有漂亮色彩。可是,一部好的電影,除了色彩外,光線 / 陰影的捕捉、構圖,對於述說電影故事也有舉足輕重的重要。清楚的亮暗對比,可以增加整體影像的真實感,甚至產生敬畏、驚奇的感受。好的明暗對比,不僅可以吸引觀眾注意力,更可以讓平面的電影畫面、產生明顯景深、深入情劑的立體感,讓觀眾更可以投入到電影世界當中。
因此,要如何讓一台 4K HDR 投影機,擁有絕佳的對比度,讓黑色更深層、對比更細膩、白色更飽滿真實?答案就是,使用 Dynamic Iris 動態光圈 (又稱動態虹膜)。
Dynamic Iris 動態光圈有多種差異極大的設計技術,甚至在同一品牌、不同型號中,都有不一樣的技術。例如:有些類型的投影機,是使用類似相機快門的方式(如下圖上層),控制快門葉片的移動、來增大 / 縮小光圈尺寸;另外也有些投影機是使用逐漸縮小孔徑的輪狀設備(如下圖下層),藉由輪狀設備旋轉、改變開口大小的方式,增強對比度的效果。
但無論是葉片快門類型、輪狀縮小孔徑類型,基本原理都一樣:都是透過調整孔徑大小、增加或減少光輸出量,藉此達到亮景更亮、暗景更暗的效果。

為了讓動態光圈表現更趨完美,BenQ 採用雙 Dynamic Iris 動態光圈解決方案。BenQ 在投影機內安裝兩個相互搭配的獨立光圈,其中一個是在靠近鏡頭的原始動態光圈上、新增一個階梯光圈,根據所收到的影片亮度自動調整大小、以更細微的額度控制投射光,創造出更棒的高對比畫面。
而 TI 德州儀器半導體的 Dynaminc Iris TM技術,可以讓投影機可以更精準判斷目前影像的亮度水平、提供極細緻的控制指令給 BenQ 雙 Dynamic Iris 動態光圈,優化投影機的光輸出能亮與對比度,創造最符合導演要求的4K HDR高畫質影片。
