COSTA MESA, California — , Mar. 21, 2025 —BenQ, a global leader in display solutions, has unveiled its first-ever Chromebox OPS slot-in PC, the TEY1C, which will be available in Q2 2025. The TEY1C transforms interactive displays, including BenQ Boards, into a ChromeOS device on an immersive, interactive display. In addition, users benefit from extended automatic updates until 2032 and IT admins can remotely manage TEY1C devices through the Google Admin Console for robust security and effortless control.

The TEY1C will receive long-term updates until March 2032, making it a future-proof solution. These updates include regular security patches to protect against emerging threats, performance optimizations for smoother operation, and system stability improvements to enhance reliability.

Teachers and students familiar with ChromeOS can start using the TEY1C instantly, with no learning curve. Educators and IT admins can easily download apps from the Chrome Web Store and Google Play Store directly on the board, as well as Chrome browser extensions, ensuring access to the learning tools they need.

“At BenQ, our mission is to empower teachers, students, and school administrators with the tools they need to succeed,” says Claire Huang, Director of BenQ’s Cloud Innovation Center and Display Solutions Department. “With the new TEY1C Chromebox OPS Slot-in PC, schools can enhance their interactive displays like never before—bringing even more versatility while using the tools they already know and love.”

When using the TEY1C with a BenQ Board, educators can go beyond just running ChromeOS—they can seamlessly use ChromeOS and Android simultaneously thanks to BenQ Duo OS. This allows them to keep ChromeOS in a movable window while, for example, annotating in Android using the BenQ Board’s built-in EZWrite interactive whiteboard for the best of both worlds.

Installation is effortless—just plug the TEY1C into the OPS slot on the back of an interactive board. No cables or remote controls are needed to get started. This can give legacy interactive displays a powerful upgrade, instantly enabling them to run a new operating system and extending their lifespan.
