Providing All the Benefits of Google Services for Education, the EDLA-Certified Smart Boards Combine Safety, Flexibility, and Usability in a Subscription-Free Smart Board Built for Education
COSTA MESA, Calif. — Jan. 9, 2024 — BenQ, an internationally renowned provider of visual display and collaboration solutions, today announced a new generation of its award-winning BenQ Board smart boards. Designed to provide educators the ease and freedom to teach their way, the advanced enterprise-grade BenQ Board RP04 and RM04 Series not only feature EDLA certification but also compatibility with school enterprise resource planning (ERP) ecosystems, personalized multi-user login, management solutions, and innovative classroom collaboration and engagement tools to support lessons.
“Educators no longer need to contend with generic smart boards that confine them to complex proprietary software and costly subscriptions,” said Bob Wudeck, senior director of business development at BenQ Education. “Our new BenQ Boards represent the most advanced EDLA-certified boards available, delivering all the benefits of Google services for education. What truly sets them apart is their unique combination of safety, flexibility, and usability, offering a subscription-free solution tailored for the future of education.”

BenQ Board RM04
BenQ Board RP04 and RM04 Series Are Built for Safety & Security
The BenQ Board RP04 and RM04 prioritize safety and security in the classroom. Featuring a TÜV-certified antimicrobial screen and buttons that are 99.9% effective against common germs, these smart boards actively reduce the transmission of germs. The remote control and pens are also germ-resistant. As the first and only certified smart board manufacturer in the industry using antimicrobial protection, BenQ demonstrates its commitment to classroom safety. Additionally, with blue light, antiglare, and flicker-free technology, the smart boards are Eyesafe® Certified 2.0, providing the highest level of eye protection by reducing eye strain without compromising vibrant colors on the screen.
The BenQ Boards are also secure. IT administrators managing existing Google account lists can take advantage of the BenQ Identity and Access Management (IAM) system to synchronize their Google Workspace Directory and immediately carry over all user accounts into the BenQ ecosystem. IAM also supports directory syncing with other SAML-based identity providers. Admins can also use the BenQ Device Management Solution (DMS) to remotely configure settings, push updates, monitor device analytics, and manage apps. The smart boards protect the school’s data through secure login options, strict access controls, regular system updates, and app scanning via Google Play Protect.
BenQ Board RP04 and RM04 Are Built for Unmatched Flexibility
Leveraging BenQ’s Identity Management syncing and free DMS and app management software, the RP04 and RM04 offer unmatched flexibility. Technology managers can expedite user list management by syncing the BenQ Board user account list with existing lists on Google Workspace, Microsoft Entra ID, ClassLink, LDAP, or other SAML-based identity providers. Using the DMS software, IT and tech professionals can quickly set up educators in the system to provide them with their own personalized and secure login for the BenQ Board — not unlike a computer with multiple users. This accomplishes three things: Teachers can log in quickly without typing in passwords in front of their students, it sets up the board just the way they need it with programs and apps they can use without connecting and mirroring their screen, and it allows the smart board to have multiple users.
With a swipe of their NFC card or by scanning the board’s QR code with their phone, users are instantly logged into their BenQ Board. This gives educators instant access to their most used widgets, apps, as well as cloud-based programs such as Google, Dropbox, and more. This streamlined approach ensures teachers make the most of their valuable classroom time and have personalized and productive experiences.
It also makes it possible for any teacher to use any BenQ Board in their school’s network for greater flexibility. For example, gifted resource teachers who work across multiple schools can log into any BenQ Board in any location. Another example is to provide secure logins for substitute teachers — eliminating the need to share passwords that introduce security risks. The subscription-free software is also a benefit for IT and technology staff. They can remotely monitor and manage all their BenQ devices. IT staff can install, update, and delete apps from a single dashboard that also allows them to push firmware updates and set startup and shutdown times remotely.
BenQ Board RP04 and RM04 Are Built for Usability
All BenQ Boards come with EZWrite, a feature-rich, license-free whiteboarding software designed for engaging classes and discussions. With EZWrite 6, users can do more than just write, draw, and add text—they can use the expandable canvas, split the screen for competitions, insert templates, utilize math tools, or show a live camera feed. The BenQ Boards also feature InstaShare 2, a wireless screen-sharing solution that provides users with flexible ways to present and collaborate. This tool allows up to nine students to simultaneously share and control their screens from their laptop, tablet, or smartphone on the BenQ Board, facilitating collaborative learning. Cloud whiteboarding enables students to join sessions from their seats or even from home, allowing for a seamless and inclusive learning experience. AI tools include text-to-speech, multilingual translation, and optical character recognition, which allows text on photos and scanned pages to be edited, for more inclusive lessons.
Users can access multiple tools intuitively from the Floating Tool, allowing them to annotate, take screenshots, or even record videos while using apps, browse files, or scroll through sites on the board. A simple tap on the sidebar allows users to switch input sources, go back to the home screen, or get a menu of the most-used apps. The multiple front-facing ports include a full-functioned USB-C port that provides 65W of charging and allows teachers to extend their laptop screen and gain touchback controls. The two 20W front-facing speakers provide room-filling sound for any class. Together with the eight-microphone array, they ensure everyone can hear and be heard during calls or audiovisual lessons.
“The RP04 and RM04 are more than ELDA-certified; they’re a flexible school ecosystem,” added Wudeck. “Teachers can customize their teaching experience with the BenQ Board, ensuring they have everything they need to enhance their teaching methods right at their fingertips.”
