I use a BenQ SW321C for editing my photographs and also for digital art, while for general graphic design work and video editing I use two PD3225U monitors. All of these monitors produce outstanding colour accuracy that I can rely on when it comes to delivering professional creative work for both print and web. It is also a huge benefit that all of these AQCOLOR monitors can perfectly match the colours of my Mac screens, which makes a big difference when you are trying to utilize all available screens while still having their colours synced.

How has being a professional designer changed your mindset and outlook?

It made me analyse and observe everything around me from the packaging of food products to movie scenes and computer game art. It is through observation that one can better understand the rules of design and I believe it is an inevitable part of every designers’ life.

What was your initial motivation for pursuing a career in design? Is there a story you'd like to share with everyone?

From a very young age I knew I wanted to have a job where I can express my creativity. I was interested in many things from composing music to acting, but my biggest passion has always been drawing. I studied traditional drawing and animation when I was a teenager, but I was an early adopter of digital art. I always aspired to be at the forefront of technology when it comes to visual self expression, and right now I am fascinated by the possibilities of generative AI, while also being aware of the unethical practices used for creating most of the popular AI models.

How do you overcome creative and life slumps? Where do you draw inspiration from?

Whenever I feel burnt out or stuck on a project I like to go for long walks, which always clears my mind. Sharing my knowledge with people is my biggest inspiration, while observing and admiring nature is a close second.

What phrase or motto best represents you?

Do not compare yourself to your role models. Work hard and wait for the moment when others will compare them to you.

How has design impacted your life as a whole?

Design has always been present in my life. I realised that I needed to find a healthy balance between actively designing and teaching design to people. Without working on design projects I would feel out of touch when it comes to teaching others, while not having the opportunity to share my latest techniques and workflows with people would make me feel less passionate about my craft.

Please describe your first-hand experience with BenQ EyeCare features and the positive impact they have had on your work and eye health. What differences do you feel?

I used to have frequent headaches on the front of my head, near my eyes. It was mainly due to eye strain and when I started wearing blue light filter glasses it got better, but it didn’t stop entirely. However since I have been using the BenQ PD3220U monitor I almost never experience headaches, even without wearing the glasses. I also noticed that I can work longer hours without eye strain. It is worth mentioning that I also use the BenQ ScreenBar Plus light attached to my main monitor, which illuminates my desk evenly and reduces the contrast when working at night.
