Why does the microphone on the speaker does not work?

If you are trying to connect via Bluetooth, enter your device’s connection list and search for and select “treVolo U” as the connection method.

If you are trying to connect via the audio jack, please ensure that:

  1. You are using the supplied audio cable.
  2. Your audio cable is a CTIA audio cable. The speaker only supports audio cables with CTIA specifications, all other audio cables will not support the microphone functionality of the speaker.

If you are connecting a Mac or iPad, enter the computer/tablet’s audio menu and search for and select “external headphones” as the input device.

If you are connecting a Windows notebook, enter the computer’s audio input menu and select the computer itself as the input device.

If you are connecting a desktop PC, this function will not be supported because most desktop PCs do not support CTIA 4-pin audio cables.

The speaker uses a high-sensitivity microphone, as a result do not use the speaker while you are in very close proximity to it (within 5cm). At such distances any sound of excessively high volume may activate the speaker’s protective mechanism, shutting down the microphone’s audio. If you encounter such a situation, disconnect and reconnect the 3.5mm audio cable to the device.
