I can see some light leak out of the active image area in a dark room, why is that?

Regarding the light leakage phenomenon, it is a physical characteristic of DLP (Digital Light Processing) projection technology, mainly related to the optical engine structure. Since DLP projectors use a digital micromirror device (DMD) to reflect light, you may notice slightly scattered light in certain scenes, especially in dark rooms, or lens shift to a special location. While this phenomenon does not typically affect the main image quality.

Light leakage can vary depending on factors such as ambient lighting conditions, projector placement, and viewing distance. In some cases, a small amount of light may spill onto the ceiling or walls, particularly in a dark environment, solutions include adjusting reflective furniture or using light-absorbing velvet borders outside the projection screen frame to reduce the light diffusion and light leakage caused by ambient reflected light.

The TK710/TK710STi projector is designed for optimal performance in bright rooms. If you primarily plan to use the projector in a dark environment, we would recommend the W Series home theater, as it offers a more suitable option for enhanced viewing comfort and experience.
