Eindhoven, Netherlands 15 August 2018 – BenQ, the global No.1 DLP projector brand, today announces its BenQ W1700 True 4K HDR Home Cinema Projector has won a European award of the coveted European Imaging and Sound Association (EISA): EISA Best Buy Projector 2018-2019. The award will be presented during an official ceremony on the first day of IFA Berlin 2018, which takes place on 31st of August 2018.

EISA is a unique association of over 50 special-interest magazines across 25 countries, including photography, mobile devices, hi-fi, home theatre audio, home theatre display & video and in-car electronics. Every year, the EISA Awards celebrate new products that combine the most advanced technology, most desirable features, and ultimate expression of design, most satisfying ergonomics and greatest value for money.

The BenQ W1700 CineHome Projector produces 8.3 million distinct pixels for true 4K UHD performance; utilising the revolutionary 0.47” single-DMD DLP technology for ultimate image precision and colour accuracy without any image distortion. The W1700’s 4K video quality is supercharged by HDR support offering greater brightness and contrast range with auto image optimization, to create lifelike details. To preserve authentic cinematic colours, the home cinema projector employs BenQ’s CinematicColor™ and RGB colour wheel to meet the film industry’s highest standard of colour accuracy.

The EISA panel officially states that “The W1700 from BenQ brings UHD HDR qualities to big screen projection in the home, at a price which previously only delivered Full HD. BenQ’s optical system leverages a DLP Digital Micromirror Device, in which the pixels of a Full HD array are shifted to four positions per frame, giving a UHD experience with crisp, bright and brilliant images. Colours are impressively accurate straight out of the box, and 3D playback is offered for that extra level of cinematic immersion. The compact cabinet makes the W1700 easy to install, while its onscreen menus are packed with tools and adjustments. As a way to upgrade to UHD projection, the W1700’s combination of quality and value are irresistible.”

“Since its introduction end of last year, the W1700 has brought home the magic of big-screen 4K digital cinema to the broader audience with advanced audiovisual enhancement and HDR, at an amazing value,” comments Steve Chu, President of BenQ Europe. “We are delighted that the BenQ W1700 projector has received recognition from EISA as this positions it to be one of the high-valued home cinema projectors out there.”
