The primary reason a 1080p projector delivers a blurry and dim image when receiving a 4K signal is due to forced downscaling and signal processing overhead within Windows. When a projector's input exceeds its native resolution, it must compress 4K data to fit its physical 1080p pixel grid, leading to lost detail and fuzzy text. Additionally, poor signal compatibility can cause color gamut compression or frequency mismatches, further reducing overall brightness.
