Windows Auto Color Management (ACM) is the latest automated color management feature designed to provide consistent color performance in multi-monitor environments.
However, ACM forces external displays to compress their color gamut to sRGB, which prevents BenQ Professional Monitors from fully displaying their wide color gamut and adversely affects calibration accuracy when using BenQ Professional Software.
Although Microsoft suggests that selecting "Use legacy display ICC color management" can bypass ACM’s impact, this option results in improper ICC profile application and ICCsync failures.
For high-precision tasks such as graphic design, photography retouching, video post-production, or print proofing, please disable ACM and do not select "Use legacy display ICC color management" before calibrating, to ensure your monitor displays the most accurate and complete wide color gamut.
Steps to disable ACM:
1. Right-click the BenQ software icon, select Properties.
2. On the Compatibility tab ensure that "Use legacy display ICC color management" is unchecked.
3. Navigate to System > Display > Color Management and disable "Automatically manage color for applications."
Note:
Adjusting the graphics card depth settings may automatically re-enable ACM. When reopening BenQ software, you may see a reminder window—please be aware of this.
