The new Acer CD-ROM 56X 656A offers a 56X maximum transfer speed of 8400KB / sec, the fastest on the market today. It offers consistent reading - thanks to the Digital servo system - and includes an anti-vibration system and a digital volume control. Of particular interest is the flash memory/upgrade system that makes it particularly interesting for high-users. It is a product Acer have developed in response to requests from PC assemblers for high quality, high-speed CD-ROM drives.
The Acer SDV 8032EP is an exceptionally slim external DVD drive designed exclusively for use with Notebooks. It is exceptionally fast - it offers a transfer rate of 8x for DVD, and 32x for CD-ROM - and will accept all current disc formats. It has a Duo Card Bus (32 bit)/PCMCIA (16 bit) interface card and can be powered directly from the notebook without an adapter (in 16 bit mode). The SDV 8032EP is exceptionally slim and weighs just 480 gr. It is compatible with Windows 95/98/ME/2000 and is supplied with a playback software bundle: InterVideo WinDVD 2000.
The Acer 6424MU External CD-RW is the first in a proposed full range of new external line products. It features the revolutionary "Seamless Link" technology developed by Acer to prevent buffer under run. It offers not only a faster performance than comparable products - 6x Write, 4x ReWrite, 24x Read - it is also considerably more compact. It is designed for both PCs and Notebooks, and features 2MB Flash Memory that allows the drive to be updated for compatibility with the latest hardware and software. It is easy to install thanks to the Hot Pluggable USB interface, and offers optional FireWire and PCMCIA connection capabilities.
In storage media, Acer continues its quest to bring the highest quality products on the market today. And they are constantly expanding this range - now introducing a 20-speed CD-Recordable - in 74 minute Silver and 80 minute Gold versions - with extremely low error rate and long life and a 16-speed CD-Rewritable, guaranteed for 1000 DOW.
