Acer presents new face and new products at CeBIT

03-12-2001
Acer Communications & Multimedia Europe is presenting a new corporate identity to the international visitors of the forthcoming CeBIT. It underlines the commitment of Acer – this year celebrating 25 years in the industry – to breaking down barriers between people and technology and adapting both its products and services to the needs of its many customers. The new Corporate Identity underlines Acer’s on-going commitment to innovation and to building an organisation that firmly places the customer in the centre.

During the CeBIT, Acer Communications & Multimedia Europe will also be unveiling a number of new products – each carefully developed to meet the changing needs of our customers. These include the first real 48-bit colour output scanner for the non-professional market; an 8-in-1 scanner, printer, colour copier, black copier, fax, email, scan-to-web, and OCR; an extended range of plug-and-play monitors; external CD-ROM and DVD drives; a new digital camera; and a new range of high quality optical storage media.

The highly compact Acer 5300U 48-colour Flatbed Scanner has been specially designed for ease of use. A fun-to-use interface allows convenient access to a wide variety of scanning applications – including scan to Palm, scan to web, scan, and copy – at just a push of one of five buttons. Photo-realistic results at the push of a button.

Customers frequently ask us for a compact, all-in-one tool to handle their scanning and printing requirements, and now Acer is pleased to introduce the eight-in-one MFP 610, that combines scan, print, colour copy, black copy, fax, scan to email, scan to Web, and OCR. The intuitive interface makes it exceptionally easy to use and offers the highest quality results.

Acer is further extending its highly-praised range of LCD monitors, with the FP563 15” entry model, the FP581, with a totally new high–end Industrial Design, auto calibration, and 17” FP781 with auto calibration and i key adjustment. All LCD monitors are plug and play, and include built-in speakers and Kensington lock for added security.

In addition, Acer is also introducing the P211, a professional model offering a bigger screen, higher resolution, brighter and more colourful picture, workstation compatibility, and full adjustment features. It has an outstanding high-end 115KHz horizontal frequency and delivers 1920x1440 maximum resolution with 75Hz flicker-free refresh.

The new 56X 656A CD-ROM drive is one of the fastest on the market, offering consistent reading, digital servo system, flash memory/upgrade system, and digital volume control. The external DVD SDV 8032EP has been specially designed for Notebooks and incorporates state-of-the-art DVD and CD-ROM technology in a highly compact and powerful package. And the new 6424MU External CD-RW offers Acer’s Seamless Link, buffer-under run proof technology in an easy-to-install, high-speed product.

In media – where Acer already has a high reputation to protect – they are introducing a 20-speed CD-Recordable – in 74 minute Silver and 80 minute Gold versions – with extremely low error rate and long life and a 16-speed CD-Rewritable, guaranteed for 1000 DOW.

Acer’s dedication to providing leading technology solutions to changing user needs is at the heart of the company’s product and service philosophy. We hear what our customers say. And provide products that fully answer their needs.

Certainly, any visit to CeBIT should include a visit to Acer Communications & Multimedia Europe’s stand in Hall 12 stand D30. Or join the press conference 22 march, from 15.00 till 16.00 hours at Room 11 in the convention centre at the CeBIT.
