Toronto, Ontario, June 6, 2005 – Television aficionados may now enjoy greater flexibility and independence while viewing their favourite programs, as BenQ Canada recently launched the DE350, a high-speed DVD recorder. This multi-tasking product possesses DVD+RW / +R recording capabilities and up to 15x high-speed dubbing from a hard disk drive to DVD, in addition to simultaneous playback and recording and a user-friendly interface.

“BenQ understands the advanced technological demands of television lovers everywhere,” said Jimmy Davlouros, Executive Vice President for BenQ North America. “With our high-speed DVD recorder, we provide consumers with the incredible freedom to view on demand, whenever and wherever they choose. Say goodbye to the frustration of having to follow someone else’s schedule.”

With its hard disc capacity of 160GB, the BenQ DE350 allows up for the recording of 200 hours of video, while a ‘time-shift’ feature permits users to pause and temporarily record television programs to watch later, as well as simultaneous playback and record. The DE 350’s write speeds of up to 15x allow an hour program to be burned in just four minutes.

A dual-CPU design features two chips that independently process video, ensuring smooth playback and crisply rendered screen images, even during simultaneous recording. The DE350 also includes an i.LINK® Interface for connecting DV/Digital 8® camcorders directly to the DVD recorder, and BenQ’s exclusive Precise true-to-life recording technique with digital comb filter to adjust image brightness, colour, contrast and degree of saturation, providing supurb video recording quality.

The DE350 is currently available in Canada and retails for approximately CDN$599.00.
