Europe, 19th of April, 2004 – BenQ today announced the removal of the CRT monitor product line from BenQ‘s European website, BenQ-eu.com. This move is driven by BenQ’s commitment to delivering leading edge LCD technology that offers practicality and enjoyment to customers.

Leveraging its vertical integration with AU Optronics, the world’s third largest panel maker, BenQ is at the forefront of delivering advanced technology LCD displays that exceed customer expectations. Back in November 2002, when BenQ launched the FP767 - 16ms, it was the first company in Europe to offer such a fast response time. Competitors first launched their 16ms version as late as June 2003. Furthermore, when BenQ launched the FP767-12ms in December 2003, it was again, the first to introduce a 12ms model in Europe. The FP767-12ms still offers the fastest response time on the market, making it perfect for gamers. These moves are positively impacting BenQ’s average market share, which stood at 1% in 2002. It increased to 4% in 2003, while the realistic target for 2004 is 10%.

Technology is increasingly becoming an integral part of our lifestyle. At BenQ, our focus is on leadership in communications and multimedia solutions. We engage consumers in partnership with our channels network, gaining insights that translate into new technologies and new ways of working faster and more efficiently. Ultimately, we believe that Enjoyment really does matter, by bringing together innovation, quality, and enjoyment through technologies that are easy to understand and simple to use.
