NYON, SWITZERLAND, 20th of November, 2003 – BenQ – one of the world’s fastest growing technology companies, was today unveiled by UEFA (the Union of European Football Associations) as an Official IT Partner of the UEFA European Football ChampionshipTM (UEFA EURO 2004TM) in Portugal.

The signing ceremony, staged at UEFA headquarters in Nyon with Gerhard Aigner, CEO of UEFA and Conway Lee, MD of BenQ Europe, was held subsequently to same-day press conferences in Beijing, China, hosted by K.Y. Lee, CEO of BenQ and in Taipei, Taiwan, hosted by Jerry Wang, VP of Marketing & Global Sales Operations.

As Information Technology Partner to UEFA EURO 2004™, BenQ will provide solutions for a number of functions critical to the operational success of the tournament and the subsequent enjoyment of millions of fans all over the world. These include: The BenQ Joybook range of laptop PC’s with superior wireless technology and multi-media capabilities that will enable officials to seamlessly integrate multi-media content.

The anticipated 8,000 accredited media will be serviced by the latest state of the art peripherals in their media and broadcast centers during the games. These will range from BenQ’s stunning large screen LCD Monitors to their line of award-winning Joybook series.

BenQ will also be the Official Statistics Provider on euro2004.com, helping to maximize the enjoyment for fans around the world by providing real-time information at the touch of a button.
