The DVP 1648A allows you to watch DVD titles on your computer, providing enjoy, information and entertainment to the highest quality available. It is extremely fast: the data transfer rate - for the DVD-ROM up to 21,600 KB/sec (16X) and for the CD-ROM up to 7,200 KB/sec (48X) - coupled to the very fast access time (85 msec typical for both DVD-ROM and CD-ROM) and the search time of just 75 msec, makes it quite simply one of the fastest DVD-ROM drives on the market today.
Acer's DVP 1648A will accept virtually all disc formats, including DVD-ROM (single/dual layer), DVD-Video, DVD-R (3.95 GB/4.7GB), DVD-RW (ver. 2.0), CD-ROM (mode 1), CD-ROM x A (Mode 2 Form 1, Form 2), CD-DA (Music CD), Video CD, CD-R/RW, Photo CD, CD-Extra, and CD-Text. This makes it extremely flexible in use.
The drive has an extremely low vibration mechanism, low noise design, and offers excellent readability of discs. It has a buffer of 512 Kbytes and an ATAPI/IDE interface. And it is supplied not only with a multi-lingual instruction manual - 14 languages - but also with InterVideo WinDVD 3.0, the world's most popular software for DVD players. A device driver disk and quick install guide are also included, ensuring that users can be up and playing very quickly. The drive is compatible with Windows 95/98/2000/ME/XP/NT 4.0. Its standard dimensions - 148mm x 198mm x 42.3 mm - allows easy installation into existing computer housings.
The new Acer DVP 1648A DVD-ROM drive offers the sort of high quality performance that is demanded by our most critical users. It is a further indication of Acer's dedication and experience in this demanding technical area. And proof that we do, indeed, hear you.
