The Auto Screen Fit function doesn't work, how can I fix it?

03-12-2026

Please check the following points first if the Auto Screen Fit fails.

The system works by having the projector camera define the aspect ratio and identify any correction needed using the black bars at edge of the screen.

1) Make sure that there’s at least 2.4 inches (6cm) of black or high contrast color border area around the white section of your screen.

2) Use a high-contrast surrounding wall if the screen border isn't wide enough.

3) Turn off the ambient light before trying the Auto Screen Fit function again.

For optimal Auto Screen Fit performance, when setting up the BenQ AK700ST / AH700ST with certain degree of horizontal tilt, please follow these guidelines:

1) 16:9 / 16:10 screens: it is recommended to keep the projection angle within 10° and the projector within 7.2 ft (2.2 m) from the screen.

2) 4:3 / 1:1 screens: it is recommended to keep the projection angle within 20° and the projector within 7.2 ft (2.2 m) from the screen.
