Why do I see RNDIS in Windows Device Manager, and why does it show that a driver is required?

05-11-2026

This is normal and not a cause for concern.

RNDIS is used to support direct‑connection pairing when a TX/HTX is plugged directly into the RX

Windows does not actively use RNDIS, so it may appear as requiring a driver in Device Manager

No driver installation is needed, and this does not affect normal operation

Summary:

Seeing RNDIS in Device Manager is expected behavior and no action is required.
