Promo Espacio is a leading digital advertising company that focuses on point-of-purchase promotions. They create specialized content for their high-profile customers, including Banco Azteca, whose 1,700 bank branches across Latin America alone reach 8.8 million people a month.
To extend their marketing services to their customers, Promo Espacio requires easily deployable digital signage solutions that would not only allow them to effectively display their content, but also give them the capability to remotely monitor the status of their signage units and troubleshoot issues at any time.
After an exhaustive search for potential display partners, Promo Espacio decided to go with BenQ.
Promo Espacio is part of Grupo Salinas, one of Mexico’s largest group of companies that delivers a wide array of products and services ranging from retail and finance to transportation and broadcasting. Promo Espacio is their digital advertising arm.
According to Brianda Luna, Manager at Promo Espacio, there were two key factors that led to this decision. The first was how BenQ's large portfolio of digital signage options was able to meet their requirements. She explains: “Promo Espacio is always seeking new solutions when it comes to professional displays and digital signage. We knew BenQ could deliver solutions with competitive pricing and had particular models that were compatible with our project needs.”
For Banco Azteca, Promo Espacio installed BenQ PL490 video wall panels with the ST4301K and ST5501K smart signage units across their locations. They currently use the PL490 for eye-catching installations that serve as the main focal point in each branch. They supplement these with the ST4301K and ST5501K, which they utilize to loop supporting content. Both the video wall and standalone signage are compatible with SIDI, Promo Espacio’s very own content management platform.
“The biggest challenge we solved with BenQ was how to adopt a framework that allows us to reduce the number of external players needed,” says Luna. “The Android system integrates with Promo Espacio’s SIDI platform, which allows us to deliver plug-and-play capabilities.”
But according to Luna, the main deciding factor for Promo Espacio was the level of support BenQ signage solutions provide through their integration with TeamViewer.

“Promo Espacio uses TeamViewer daily. It’s how we provide quick support to our teams,” she explains. “It’s important for Promo Espacio to have TeamViewer because it allows us to immediately and remotely control all our displays from one console.”
In order for Promo Espacio to ensure that their content is displayed without interruptions, they regularly monitor the status of their BenQ signage through TeamViewer. They are able to collect device data and perform tests on multiple displays across several Banco Azteca branches without having to physically inspect them. This saves the team a lot of time and effort that would otherwise be spent traveling to different locations.
TeamViewer offers a suite of remote connectivity and IT management solutions that allows users to monitor and maintain their systems in real time from anywhere they are. As of 2021, TeamViewer has over 2.5 billion downloads, and is used by over 600,000 global customers to oversee 320 million active devices each year.
“The experience has been generally positive,” says Luna, who notes how the interoperability among the three systems—TeamViewer, BenQ displays, and Promo Espacio’s SIDI platform—have been advantageous to their overall business. “We achieved great synergy and teamwork with BenQ in the search for new solutions for our clients. At Promo Espacio, we expect to accomplish a lot more together as BenQ develops new technologies for digital signage and other solutions.”
