Why are the contrast measurement results not good enough or even below the product specifications when I switch to the preset color modes like sRGB, DCI-P3, or Rec. 709 mode?

05-09-2025

To provide designers and photographers with perfect color accuracy, the Uniformity setting for all preset color modes (sRGB, P3, Rec. 709, etc.) is enabled by default and cannot be changed.

For the DICOM and HDR color modes, which require high contrast usage scenarios, the Uniformity setting is turned off by default and cannot be changed.

If you need to enhance the overall brightness and high contrast of the display in preset color modes, you can adjust the settings as follows:

1. OSD menu > Color > Color Mode > User mode

2. OSD menu > Advanced > Uniformity > OFF

3. OSD menu > Advanced > Color Gamut > Select the Color Gamut you prefer

4. OSD menu > Color, adjust the settings such as Brightness and Contrast according to your preference

BenQ is continuously optimizing the customer usage experience, and a new firmware version is expected to be released before August 2025.

After updating the firmware via BenQ Display Quickit, you will be able to find the Uniformity setting in the OSD menu of the monitor, and the Uniformity setting can be enabled or disabled according to your preference in preset Color Modes.
