  • How to check BenQ GV50 projector is turned off or is in standby mode?

Please check the clip below to know whether your GV50 is turned off or is in standby mode.

  • How can I apply the bi-directional CEC function on the projector?

Regarding the CEC (Consumer Electronics Control) functionality on BenQ projectors. We understand your expectation for full bi-directional CEC support. However, after careful consideration of usage scenarios, we have designed our projector to limit CEC control to one-way communication.

This approach helps avoid unintended behaviors such as powering on all connected source devices simultaneously when the projector sends a CEC power-on command. In certain setups, this could cause user inconvenience or confusion. Additionally, it is important to note that not all source devices respond consistently to CEC commands—some may ignore power-on signals altogether.

We truly appreciate your understanding, and we will continue to work on the possible implementation of bi-directional CEC features in future updates and models. Should you have any further questions or suggestions, please feel free to reach out.

  • 3D is not working or getting lost sync on my projector. How can I fix it?

Please check the following settings to correct this issue.

    1. If the source gives the correct 3D information to the projector, the projector will switch to 3D automatically. If your source is from PC or steaming content, please select the correct 3D format via OSD Display > 3D > 3D mode.
    2. Check the user manual and make sure that the resolution of your content supports 3D.
    3. Press the DLP Link button on your 3D glasses to resync the projector and 3D glasses.
    4. Please try to change the HDMI EDID setting to Standard.
    5. Make sure that no other Projectors are sending DLP Link signals in the same room.
    6. Watching in a relatively dark environment to avoid being influenced by other light sources.
    7. Check the battery level on your DLP 3D Glasses
    8. Adjust the watching distance and screen size within a normal range(Specs)
    9. Stay in a fixed position, and try not to move too far/quickly on your head/3D glasses.
    10. Try to adjust a colorful setting on the projector and avoid external light direct to your 3D glasses/screen.
    11. If it's still not working, the issue might be caused by Hardware margin. You can switch to another projector or 3D glasses for a try.

    3. Browse your device for the media file to play and then enjoy.
  • Can I use voice control on the projector through Google Assistant?

Yes. Google Assistant can be used to access apps in areas where it's available. The projector comes with a Bluetooth remote control. Make sure the remote control is connected to the projector via Bluetooth, and then hold the mic button on the remote control to start a voice search.

  • Can I use the GV50 projector in the daytime?

Yes, the projector's 500 ANSI lumen laser light source allows you to use it in the daytime around your house. For a more enjoyable viewing experience, watching in a soft lit or darker environment is suggested.

The 500 ANSI lumen allows for clear images when you project onto an 80" screen in a dark room, a 60" screen in a room with soft lighting, or a 40” screen in a well-lit room with no daylight. When using the projector in the daytime, choose the "Daytime" picture mode to brighten the dim regions of the images.

  • What kind of power bank does the GV50 projector support? Does it support power supply (PD-In) via a USB-C cable?

The portable projector can be charged with a power bank or USB-C Power Delivery (PD) adapter via USB-C that supports power delivery of 20 V / 2.25 A to 5 A from 45 W to 100 W. The power bank is recommended to have a capacity of 30,000 mAh.

    NOTE:

Use a USB-C to USB-C cable that supports USB-C Power Delivery (20V-2.25A to 5A from 45W to 100W) to connect the projector and power bank.

The projector does not support car chargers.

Ensure your USB-C cable is USB-IF certified and supports Power Delivery.

To charge the battery and supply power simultaneously while using the projector, power banks need to support more than 65W (20V3.25A).

When using a power adapter or power bank ranging from 45W (20V2.25A) to 65W (20V3.25A), the device can support the power supply during operation (e.g., playing videos or music), but it cannot charge the battery. Battery charging is only available when the projector is powered off or in Networked Standby mode.

Refer to the user manual for detailed USB-C Power Delivery specifications and associated brightness limitations.

  • Is screen sharing possible in a Wi-Fi-less environment?

Screen sharing in a Wi-Fi-less environment can be set up via the three different setup scenarios and the subsequent instructions described below.

Scenario A (A network configuration set up using two devices):

Device 1: Projector with Google TV OS.

Device 2: Smartphone acting as a Wi-Fi access point (sharing a hotspot with stable 45/5G Internet).

Use Device 2 to cast media content onto Device 1.

Scenario B (A network configuration set up using three devices):

Device 1: Projector with Google TV OS.

Device 2: Smartphone acting as a Wi-Fi access point (sharing a hotspot with stable 45/5G Internet).

Device 3: Smart device (cellphones/ tablets) that you wish to cast media content with.

Use Device 3 to cast media content onto Device 1.

    For Android devices:

    1. Please choose scenario B to run casting since the Google-related casting service is not available for a two-device configuration (Scenario A).
    2. Make sure Device 1 and Device 3 are connected to the same hotspot shared by Device 2.
    3. Make sure your projector stays on the Google TV home page.

    2. Go to Settings > Remotes and Accessories > Pair Accessories to add accessories to connect the AirPods.
