Here’s Part II focused on the BenQ RP04’s Android 15 upgrade-what’s new, what changes in day-to-day teaching, and what to expect with Gemini and security.

Following the insightful discussions in Part I of our FAQ series, we now shift from general classroom workflows to the system upgrade that powers them. This article unpacks what Android 15 means on the BenQ RP04: the current OS version, how the interface feels for teachers, whether Gemini AI is available, and the tangible boosts to speed, stability, and security.

Built into the BenQ Smart Boards, this upgrade ensures classrooms get not only an intuitive interface but also a future-ready platform that keeps lessons seamless and collaboration effortless.

If you’re planning rollouts or advising your IT team, these answers will help you translate an OS update into smoother lessons and lower support overhead.

1) What is the latest Android version available on BenQ RP04 panels?

Android 15 is now available for RP04 via an official BenQ firmware (OTA) update released in July 2025. New production units and updated panels report OS: Android 15 in the system info.

2) Has the user interface changed with Android 15 on RP04?

The core BenQ teaching experience- BenQ launcher, EZWrite, InstaShare, and ClassroomCare tools remains familiar. Android 15 brings system-level refinements (settings, permissions dialogs, under-the-hood services), while BenQ’s own UI and apps keep their established layout so teachers don’t need to relearn the board. BenQ’s July firmware notes call out new conveniences (e.g., share Wi-Fi via QR code) rather than sweeping visual changes.

3) Can we use AI Gemini features on Android 15 in RP04 panels?

Yes, BenQ indicates that boards upgraded to Android 14/15 get access to Google’s Gemini overlay/app, enabling AI assistance on the panel (subject to your region, Google account policies, and admin controls). On-device Gemini Nano features are part of Android’s AICore and depend on Google’s enablement and hardware support; BenQ hasn’t specifically claimed Nano on RP04, so treat Nano use-cases as dependent on Google/IT policy rather than guaranteed.

4) Does Android 15 improve the speed and performance of BenQ RP04 boards?

Yes. BenQ’s announcement describes optimized CPU/memory usage, faster app startup, and kernel updates that improve efficiency and responsiveness on RP04 after the Android 15 upgrade. Schools should see quicker launches and smoother multitasking in daily teaching.

5) Are there any new security updates included in Android 15 for RP04?

Yes. The Android 15 firmware delivers latest security patches, plus the ongoing Google Play Protect and system-level hardening that come with EDLA devices. This strengthens defense against malicious apps and vulnerabilities and helps IT maintain a consistent, secure baseline across classrooms.
