BenQ still the world’s No. 1 DLP Projector Brand

07-22-2012
July 2012, Sydney Australia:     BenQ remain ranked at the top of the world’s DLP segment – the No.1 projector brand globally – and is ranked within the top three in eleven countries including Australia, New Zealand and Thailand according to the latest 2012 FutureSource Consulting Report (Q1).

While BenQ is used to holding the No.1 ranking for DLP projection worldwide, they’re celebrating the acquisition of the top spot in India and Indonesia – markets they describe as ‘emerging’ in this quarter’s findings.

In Australia, BenQ is ranked in third position in both the Institutional (Education) and Home Display segments for DLP projection, but holds the number two position in the Asia Pacific region* – their market share growing from 9.8 to 13.2% this quarter.

Said Chee F. Chung, general manager for BenQ Australia, “As a projector specialist,  BenQ designs the most suitable products to meet the needs of each market and different areas.  This is especially the case in education.

“This year, BenQ have provided projectors for many education projects in different countries including Indonesia, India, the Philippines, Bangladesh, Saudi Arabia and Taiwan.

“The success of the unique SmartEco™ power saving technology incorporated into our DLP projectors is a key to our continuing success in this market and we feel the introduction of the BlueCore engine light source short-throw projectors this year will strengthen our success internationally,” said Chung.

The BenQ LX60ST and LW61ST laser projectors are an economical and environmentally friendly choice for education and home theatre set-up.  These new projectors have no lamp and are manufactured totally free of mercury.  They are the first projectors in the world to feature BlueCore technology – employing laser light to achieve optimised energy efficiency, projection performance and instant readiness.  Also incorporating BenQ’s unique SmartEco™ Advanced technology they reduce light source power consumption by up to 90% to provide an overall significantly reduced total cost to projector ownership.

With an 80,000:1 contrast ratio and WXGA resolution, BenQ’s new laser projectors are ideal for home, office or the school environment.
