BenQ looking to ‘project’ and be heard at the 2011 School Resources Expo

BenQ looking to ‘project’ and be heard at the 2011 School Resources Expo

03-09-2011
March 2011:  It was said that technology was supposed to ease our workload – ‘work smarter, not harder’ was the motto - and while computerisation has done anything but reduce our time at work, it’s had a significant impact on the contemporary classroom, making learning fun, interactive and enjoyable.

Take the unique and innovative BenQ MP780ST - an interactive projector which provides all the versatility of an Interactive Whiteboard at a fraction of the cost. Requiring no calibration, it comes with the innovative system’s PointDraw Pen allowing the students to participate in the learning process without leaving their seats.

Drummoyne Public School in Sydney’s inner west was one of the first in Australia to install the BenQ MP780 Interactive Projector into one of its kindergarten classrooms. According to DPS teacher Ms Natalie Goodman, the MP780 ST PointDraw Projector ‘is a successful teaching tool for smaller classrooms and budget-conscious schools’.

The class of 20 kindergarten students had the benefit of the interactive projector for term four of the 2010 school year. Teacher, Natalie Goodman found student participation improved with the installation of the projector, and said that the projector was “…a great resource to enhance different learning styles”.

“It’s made a distinct difference to the atmosphere in the classroom with the children showing loads of interest and excitement in the technology,” she said.

Small classroom? BenQ’s ultra short throw MX880UST is world-first technology - a projector designed for small spaces, it can project a mighty image when placed just inches away from the wall or board and is suitable for use with IWBs.
“BenQ’s MX880UST is the education projector spelling an end to shadowing and dispelling many of the common limitations often associated with projector presentations,” said Chee F. Chung, BenQ Australia’s general manager.
“It’s due to‘ultra short throw’ projection – the latest in projector technology - meaning the MX880UST can be mounted just inches away from the projection surface.”
This in turn, means that the teacher can access the board without casting a shadow or interrupting vision of the presentation material, facilitating unobstructed learning.
Ideal for use in an education environment, especially when used in conjunction with an interactive whiteboard (IWB), the MX880UST marks another ‘world first’ in education projection for BenQ.
BenQ’s very own asphiercal lens design incorporated into the MX880UST provides clearer, sharper and more stable picture performance. This, combined with 2500 ANSI lumen brightness, XGA resolution and 3000:1 high contrast ratio, 3D ready capability, PC-less presentation, multi-display functionality and LAN control versatility make the MX880UST the projector of choice for the 21st century classroom.
BenQ will have a range of their highly acclaimed projectors and display monitors on show at the School Resources Expo. In addition to the MP780ST and the MX880UST, the BenQ SP890 projector, BL902TM/ BL2201PT and BL2400PT LED VA panel monitors and three Camcorders – the BenQ S21, S11 and M11 will be on call for personalised demonstrations and customer trial.
