Sydney, Australia, March 24, 2014 - Further expanding its portfolio of Full HD projectors, BenQ has announced two new home entertainment projector models – W1300 and W1400 – competitively priced and featuring enhanced innovation to deliver a sharper image contrast, maximum brightness and excellent 3D picture.  Both models are also standard equipped with one pair of 3D shutter glasses.

With standard features like 2000 and 2200 ANSI lumens for the W1300 and W1400 respectively, and a contrast ratio of 10,000:1, these new home entertainment offerings are also equipped with the DarkChip3™ DLP® technology from Texas Instruments. The new home entertainment projectors meet the highest requirements in terms of colourwith BrilliantColor™ technology, 1.07 billion colors, 6-segment colourwheel and 3D colourmanagement. The REC 709 colourgamut ensures standardized colourcalibration of the W1300 and W1400 projectors, as found in televisions and cinema projectors. BenQ Australia’s MD Martin Moelle explained “This ensures a higher black level which means a deeper contrast and an improved brightness display. The viewer sees truly accurate colour representation the first time they use the projector.”

Both projectors utilize the Triple Flash feature which is integrated in the DLP® chip, designed to display crisp 3D graphics, which are normally only reserved for more expensive equipment. Triple Flash ensures, with 3D viewing at 144HZ, that no vibrations can be observed due to a tripling of the screen refresh frequency. The integrated DLP® Link™ synchronization system enables a perfect interplay between the projector and 3D shutter glasses which are standard supplied with these projectors.

The W1400 utilises frame interpolation technology, which enables the projector to display smooth image sequences without blur effects through the calculation of intermediate images. As a result, the W1400 is a projector suited perfectly to projecting high motion visuals, such sporting events like the World Cup, making it a great choice for any sporting fan that wants to bring the fervor of soccer fandom and the heights of sporting greatness to their living room.

“We’ve worked toward improving the image quality, affordability and accessibility of projectors,” said Moelle. “Installing these home entertainment models can be as simple as placing the projector on your coffee table and connecting it to power and a DVD player or set top box. Removing the hassle means that any user can experience their favourite sports or movies on a picture perfect big screen, regardless of their technical know-how.”

These new home entertainment projectors are equipped with lens shift and zoom functionalities which assist the user produce optimal settings and alignment of the projected image. The high zoom ratio of 1.5:1 and 1.6:1 for the W1300 and W1400 respectively, makes sure that the projection area will be fully utilised.

Connectivity is impressive with 2x HDMI, 1x composite video (RCA), 1x component video input, audio L/R (RCA), USB and RS232 (DB-9 pin) making these new projectors extremely flexible in any way of home entertainment. The W1300 comes with a built-in 10W speaker, while the W1400 produces more powerful sound with SRS WW HD® technology by two speakers of 10W.

The W1300 and W1400 are both SmartEco® technology equipped making them energy efficient in use, resulting in an extended lamp life at full brightness up to 6,000 hours.
