We're currently working to bring Jamboard to additional countries. The Jamboard app is free and available globally. Is Jamboard a G Suite Core Service?

Yes, Jamboard software is a G Suite Core Service. This includes the web, phone, and tablet apps. The Jamboard device is covered by a separate Jamboard Terms of Service.

Why do I need G suite License?

G suite licenses allows you to save the your Jam sessions and provides access to content from google drive such as docs, sheets, and slides.

How do I turn the Jamboard service on?

Using the Jamboard app with a G Suite account is controlled in the G Suite Admin console. Learn more

Is Jamboard available for purchase for customers on all G Suite editions?

Jamboard is available for purchase for G Suite Basic, Business, Enterprise, and Education customers.

Do you need the Internet to use Jamboard?

Yes. To set up the board, an Internet connection is required. In offline mode, Jamboard supports core drawing functionality. However, online connectivity is required for sharing, saving to Drive, handwriting recognition, connecting to a meeting, and other Jamboard features.

Is Jamboard’s internet connectivity wireless or wired?

Jamboard works with both wireless and wired Internet connectivity. Learn more about how to configure Wi-Fi.

How do I assemble my Jamboard?

What do customers get with the Jamboard Admin Management Console?

Admins will be able to:

• Set up their device
• Monitor their device status
• Configure various settings
• Manage a fleet of Jamboards
• Perform remote functions, such as factory reset

How long does it take to switch input source on Jamboard?

Normally it will take up to 10-15 seconds, please wait patiently.

What is the minimum bandwidth required for Jamboard?

There is no minimum. 4 Mbps download and 3 Mbps upload speed are recommended - slower speeds will result in lag and overall degraded experience.

Is Jamboard integrated with Google Drive and Google Docs?

Yes. Jamboard allows you to merge work from Docs, Sheets, and Slides, or add photos stored in Drive. Jam content created on the device or the app is also stored using Google Drive.

Is Jamboard compatible with iOS, Android, Windows, macOS, and Chrome OS? Can we join Jam sessions with these devices?

Yes, Jamboard works with Android, iOS, Windows, Mac, and Chrome OS. You can create or join a live Jam session on iOS and Android by using the Jamboard App. The Jamboard app can be downloaded from Google Play (Android) and the App Store (iOS). 

You will have full functionality when using the Jamboard app on tablets. It will be as if you're standing right in front of the Jamboard itself. 

When using the Jamboard app on a mobile phone, you will still be able to contribute to the Jam session, but you won't have access to all of the features. 

PCs running Windows, macOS, and Chrome OS will have real-time view-only access to the Jam session by using a web browser. Simply click the link sent from the Jamboard to join.

Can I use the Jamboard to display my Windows, Mac, or Chrome device?

Yes, you can use a Jamboard to display your Windows, Mac, or Chrome device. In fact, Jamboard can display any device that has an HDMI source.

Will Jamboard pass the security requirements of my organization?

Jamboard utilizes 256-bit SSL for encryption, as well as the customer domain’s Drive file sharing rules. Settings such as document timeout are also available to auto-close a jam after a set time of inactivity, as well as Many large organizations who are concerned about confidentiality and intellectual property use Jamboard.

Can users invite others outside of their domain to participate in a Jam, or will the Jam sessions be locked to only people on their domain?

It depends on the admin setting in the Control Panel around sharing policies for your domain. The Sharing policy for Jamboard will be the same as the sharing policy you set for Docs/Sheets/Slides.

Do I need to buy the Jamboard device to use the Jamboard app on Android and iOS®?

No. You can use the Jamboard app on a tablet device and experience many of the same features as you would on the Jamboard device. However, this isn't true for the smartphone app, which functions as a companion for your Jamboard device. Learn more about the differences between the phone and tablet apps.

Why do I need a board if the app will do it?

The physical Jamboard provides a seamless solution for ideation within a collaborative environment. Where traditional whiteboards are limited, the Jamboard allows you to save all your information and take advantage of the current technology from Google. (The hardware specs of the Jamboard are also top-of-the-line; 4K Screen, 1080 p resolution, with Chromecast built into the board as well.) The styli of the board are passive, and therefore extremely affordable.

Is Jamboard compatible with Hangouts Meet?

Yes. Jamboard makes it easy to share your jams with colleagues via Hangouts. Learn how to connect people to a live jam session.

Can I use Jamboard instead of my video conferencing hardware?

Jamboard allows users to share video via Hangouts Meet. However, Jamboard was not specifically designed for video conferencing and instead is supplementary to it.

Does Jamboard work with Skype, WebEx, GoToMeeting, etc.?

Jamboard is integrated with G Suite capabilities and can use Hangouts Meet to collaborate with remote colleagues. It does not support other software like Skype.

But now through our partner Pexip, you can join a 3rd party meeting software as well.

What level of customer support is offered for Jamboard?

The Jamboard Terms of Service include full technical support for qualifying device owners.
