Many schools today are under the same pressure to conserve energy. Though the green goals amount to a good cause, they may still leave educators a little discouraged to update their school equipment, such as classroom projectors. In searching for a solution, BenQ has incorporated Philips’ ImageCare technology into its own SmartEco technology to bring together optimal picture performance, exquisite picture quality and optimized lamp life through eco-friendly features that are intuitive and familiar to use.
This convenient feature allows teachers to blank the projection screen whenever they need to direct their students' focus back on them – or simply when the projector is not in use. When activated, the Eco Blank Mode dims the lamp power automatically, lowering the total power consumption by up to 70%.
The SmartEco Mode is designed to use just the right amount of lamp power a projector requires to deliver the best contrast performance. With this feature, schools get to provide students and teachers uncompromised projection quality and reduce the total cost of ownership with extended lamp life and lowered power consumption.
There will be times when a projector is left running on its own. To save energy, the No Source Mode lowers the projector lamp power by 30% after a projector has remained unconnected to a display source for over three minutes.
