New Commercial-Grade Public Information Displays Introduce Industry-Leading Six-Point Multitouch Technology

TORONTO — July 31, 2013 — BenQ Canada Corp. an internationally renowned provider of digital lifestyle innovations, today announced that it is now shipping its interactive IL Series of touch-screen public information displays (PID) to customers nationwide. Featuring industry-leading six-point multitouch technology on select models, the interactive display line including the IL420, IL460, and IL650 (42-, 46-, and 65-inch models, respectively) has been deliberately designed for public venues that demand longer service life, increased interactivity, higher dependability, and better environmental considerations.

With six-point multitouch capabilities (IL420 and IL460) — the highest number of touch points in the industry — the screens augment the customer experience with interactive content, facilitate information finding, and provide corporate settings with flat-panel solutions geared toward increased collaboration. Featuring ambient light sensors to adjust screen brightness automatically according to environmental lighting conditions and LAN control for remote management and maintenance, the panels also provide both enhanced energy savings and more efficient overall 24/7 signage operation.

"Our new IL Series is engineered to bring flawless interactivity to sectors such as the retail, hospitality, corporate, and education spaces," said Mike Booker, Vice President of Sales at BenQ Canada Corp. "With industry-leading multitouch technology, full HD resolution, and latency-free navigation, our commercial-grade displays allow customers to engage with content in entirely new ways, creating opportunities for commercial signage installations that innovatively inform, call for action, and entertain."

Producing smooth, rich images with no visible color banding, the series provides scheduling management functions, optimization for portrait mode scenarios, and rich connectivity options for added flexibility. These include two built-in 12-W speakers, PIP / PBP capabilities, DisplayPort connectivity, and RS232 / LAN control. The screens also provide ultra-high brightness of up to 1.07 billion colors and feature anti-image retention to prevent the burned-in effect after extended periods of usage in commercial displays. For larger signage installations, the devices' Multiple Display Administrator (MDA) application enables the control of up to 98 displays simultaneously through the local network.

Available now, the BenQ IL420, IL460, and IL650 retail at $2,499 (CAD), $3,299 (CAD), and $7,999 (CAD), respectively. More information on BenQ products is available at www.BenQ.ca.
