|Las Vegas, NV (Jan 6, 2005) - BenQ today announced two new additions to its line of wide-screen LCD monitors, the 17-inch FP71W and 20-inch FP201W, which offer high brightness and contrast levels, as well as ultra-fast response times and a 16:9 aspect ratio. These models complement the 23-inch BenQ FP231W that was announced in June 2004.|
Designed for a wide range of applications, from video viewing and PC gaming to word processing and other office work, both the FP71W and FP201W come equipped with four USB ports in addition to D-Sub, DVI-D, S-Video and Composite inputs, and VGA and DVI cables to accommodate high-end multimedia content.
The FP71W offers a high brightness rating of 450 cd/m2 with a resolution of 1280 x 768, while the FP201W features a brightness rating of 300 cd/m2 and a resolution of 1680 x 1050. Both displays offer a high contrast ratio of 800:1 and a 16.7 million-color palette to ensure precise color reproduction. The FP201W includes a super-fast 12ms gray-to-gray response time for dynamic screen motion that yields smooth, full-motion visuals and prevents image “ghosting.”
The 17-inch FP71W features BenQ’s proprietary “Senseye®” digital-enhancement technology that automatically and dynamically improves image quality, adjusts darkness levels, performs color-mapping procedures and reduces jagged edges on images. Senseye adjusts contrast, color and sharpness settings, which significantly enhances the display of graphics-intensive applications such as gaming, digital photographs and viewing of movies.
The FP71W and FP201W will be available in Summer 2005, with estimated retail prices of $499 and $799, respectively.
