|Irvine, CA (Sept 14, 2004) - BenQ today announced the hiring of Mark Pickard, formerly of Toshiba America Information Systems, Inc., as its new director of product marketing. In this newly created position, Pickard will oversee product marketing, audio-visual (A/V) channel development strategy and marketing program development for the company's line of data and video projectors. He will report directly to Al Giazzon, vice president of Marketing at BenQ America.|
As part of his new role with BenQ, Pickard will continue to build BenQ's position as the leading manufacturer of DLPÔ-based projectors. He will focus on supporting the company's growing pro-A/V channel presence and recently-launched Home Cinema Partner Program, an initiative designed to support and increase sales margin opportunities for BenQ's national network of solution providers and product installers.

Pickard has more than 20 years of experience in leading the development and implementation of marketing strategies and tactics for high-profile technology-based companies, including nearly a decade spent leading the A/V product initiatives and communications efforts for Toshiba America Information Systems and Epson America. Prior to Toshiba and Epson, Pickard held senior management positions at Hewlett-Packard, Northrop Corporation and Sony Trans Com.
