CITY OF INDUSTRY, Calif. (December 5, 2002) - Today we celebrate a joyous event. One year ago today, BenQ was born. A new brand of integrated technology products, BenQ was born of the marriage of Enjoyment and Quality.
"Our philosophy created the BenQ Vision that drives us to produce products that enable people to enjoy the benefits of integrated technologies " remarks K. Y. Lee, CEO of BenQ Corporation. "The 'BenQ Networked Digital Lifestyle' vision is becoming a reality because we have committed sufficient resources to R&D, product development and strategic marketing initiatives. Moreover, we remain steadfast in our goal to maximize the joy intrinsic in applying technology to improve people's lives. "
Our first birthday is a day of many celebrations. In the last year, we have witnessed the birth of the FP591 & FP791. These LCD panels produce stunning full motion images with the industry's fastest (16ms) response time. The last year has also seen the rise of our H200 LCD TV that has unrivaled highest brightness and our amazing smart display Pluto. In our first 12 months, we saw a growth rate of almost 50% in all of our product categories. This growth fueled the need for BenQ to establish additional branch offices, numbering more than 20, in order to serve our growing markets.
BenQ has acquired numerous credentials this past year. In BusinessWeek's June 2002 issue, BenQ was rated 13th among the Top 100 IT companies.
The Taiwanese Edition of PC Magazine's latest annual IT poll placed BenQ amongst the industry's leaders:
LCD Monitors: #1!
CRT Monitors: #3!
CD/DVD Rom: #5!
Furthermore, BenQ is noted as the world's second largest LCD monitor manufacturer and Taiwan's largest handset maker.
BenQ was formerly Acer Communications & Multimedia (ACM). ACM was founded by Acer in 1984 and has a consistent track record of strong performances for its solutions in communications.
We are BenQ. And we Bring Enjoyment aNd Quality to life.
