ORLANDO, Fla. — InfoComm — June 11, 2013 — BenQ America Corp., a globally renowned provider of digital lifestyle innovations, today announced the availability of its new commercial-grade Public Information Display (PID) solutions. Designed to provide immersive visual experiences via higher brightness, more elegant design, and cost-saving technology, the PID Series comprises three new lines made to satisfy today's most impressive digital signage installations: Super Narrow Bezel panels for video wall displays; Interactive Touch Screens with industry-leading six-point multitouch technology; and Mainstream signage for high-traffic commercial public spaces.
Super Narrow Bezel Panels for Video Wall Displays
For large video wall deployments, BenQ's new P Series of Super Narrow Bezel displays ensures that content remains the most prominent feature of any sizeable signage installation by achieving an incredible 5.6-mm active-active gap (3.5 mm top and left; 2.1 mm bottom and right) between screens for up to 10x10 video wall displays. The result is a virtually seamless viewing experience for the audience by making bezels practically invisible from a distance. To facilitate the installation process, P Series displays also feature screen-unifying color calibration technology to accelerate video wall setups, RJ45 Ethernet and RS232 interface support, and digital daisy chain connectivity, which enables the delivery of high-quality content to multiple screens through a single DVI port. Making video walls even more vivid to the viewer, the series' PL models offer 450 nits of high brightness, while the PH models shine at an ultra-luminescent 700 nits of lighting power. To lower the solutions' total cost of ownership, P Series displays also feature an auto cooling function, which activates fans whenever screen temperatures reach critical levels.
Interactive Touch Screens With Industry-Leading Six-Point Multitouch Technology
Featuring up to six-point multitouch displays — the highest number of touch points in the industry — as well as ambient light sensors for energy efficiency and LAN control for remote management and maintenance, the Interactive Touch IL Series has been deliberately designed for public venues that demand longer service life, higher dependability, and environmental consideration. While LAN control provides 24/7 centralized access to signage deployments, the IL Series also features full-HD resolution, a 4000:1 contrast ratio, and latency-free response times. The result is the production of smooth, rich images with no visible color banding for extremely vivid content. The series also provides scheduling management functions, portrait display capabilities, and rich connectivity options for added flexibility.
Mainstream Signage For High-Traffic Commercial Public Spaces
BenQ's durable Mainstream SL Series provides a dust-proof design that is ideal for retail applications such as convenience stores, shopping spaces, and restaurant environments that need reliable around-the-clock operation. Featuring an amazing average life of 50,000 hours – enough for several years of non-stop display service – the SL Series also displays 10-bit levels for each primary color to produce an amazing one billion total colors. To facilitate the installation and calibration process, the series also features both digital and analog daisy chain capabilities, Open Pluggable Specification (SL461A model) for easy networking with other equipment, and PIP/PbP to display content from two different video sources independently, adding even more convenience and flexibility to signage applications.
"Our new digital signage and video wall solutions reassert our first-to-market reputation by pushing the boundaries of thought leadership, innovation, and commitment to reducing total cost of ownership," said Kristin Kennedy, Associate Vice President, U.S. Sales at BenQ America Corp. "With game-changing features like ambient light sensors and a new Multiple Display Administrator application, users obtain the brightest possible image, colorific picture quality, and intuitive management tools that reach today's essential energy-efficiency objectives. The result is smarter, more impactful signage installations across all commercial applications, backed by value pricing."
All BenQ flat panel displays feature a Multiple Display Administrator (MDA) application, which enables control of up to 98 displays simultaneously through the local network. The application also monitors the health of each display and coordinates sequential startups to prevent power surges. To improve energy performance and reduce maintenance costs, BenQ's public information displays feature sensors to automatically adjust brightness, anti-image retention to prevent the "burned-in" effect after extended periods of usage, and scheduling management to allow users to program up to seven sets of on/off times down to individual video input sources. All models feature landscape and portrait modes, which facilitate installations and the conception of creative video wall applications.
BenQ's digital signage and video wall solutions begin shipping in July 2013, and will be on display in booth 3071 at InfoComm 2013. More information is available at www.BenQ.us.
