IRVINE, Calif. — Oct. 10, 2011 — BenQ America Corp. today announced that as the official gaming monitor sponsor of the Electronic Sports League (ESL) Intel Extreme Masters 2011/2012 season, it will be supplying its XL2410T gaming monitor to the New York Global Challenge, being held Oct. 13-16 at the 2011 New York Comic Con (NYCC). Designed with the gamer in mind, BenQ’s XL2410T will ensure the highest level of competitive gaming as eSports players from around the world battle it out for a piece of the $93,000 prize purse across Counter-Strike 1.6, StarCraft II, and League of Legends.

Codeveloped by professional CS gamers Emil “HeatoN” Christensen and Abdismad “SpawN” Mohamed and endorsed by world champion gamer Kyle “ksharp” Miller, the 3D-ready BenQ XL2410T features a 23.6-inch-wide LED panel, a 120-Hz refresh rate, a 2-ms response time, a 10M:1 dynamic contrast ratio, built-in aspect ratio controls, and an adjustable-height stand for the ultimate gaming experience.

As the tournament’s official gaming monitor sponsor, BenQ is providing over 600 professional gaming displays for all competitions including the World Championship tournament to be held in 2012. Now in its sixth season, the Intel Extreme Masters represents the most intense and challenging global eSports league. U.S. 2011 New York Comic Con marks the third event of the global league of video game champions. The tournament follows with the first global challenge of 2012 being held in Kiev, Ukraine, Jan. 19-22. For the first time in its six-year history Intel Extreme Masters will also stop in Sao Paulo, Brazil, during Campus Party 2012 Feb. 6-12, before the World Championship tournament takes place later in the year.
