BenQ’s Interactive Digital Whiteboard Set to Brighten InfoComm 2011 and Projection Summit 2011

BenQ to Demonstrate 4-foot by 12-foot Interactive Solution for Classrooms at InfoComm, While Education Director Leads “Projection in Education” Session at Projection Summit

05-25-2011

IRVINE, Calif. — May 25, 2011 — BenQ, the number one DLP® Projector brand in the world, today announced that the company will demonstrate its latest innovation for the education market at InfoComm 2011: the leading 4-foot by 12-foot interactive digital whiteboard. At Projection Summit 2011 — held in conjunction with InfoComm on June 13 and 14 — BenQ Education Director Juan Alvarez will touch upon this breakthrough technology in his presentation “Visual Technology Innovations in the Classroom.” At both events, BenQ will be lending high-brightness projectors for presentations and education sessions.

During InfoComm 2011, visitors to BenQ’s booth can experience the benefits of the company’s interactive digital whiteboard firsthand. Unlike traditional whiteboard concepts featuring one projector and a smaller screen, BenQ’s solution integrates three projectors into one seamless display. For a more efficient and interactive classroom environment, BenQ’s whiteboard is easy for teachers to use via control from a single desktop. This approach enables teachers to save and share their work in a normal desktop environment, thus creating new avenues for collaboration. Assisting teachers as they move toward a digital environment, BenQ’s interactive solution utilizes a technology that incorporates sensors to track the movement of the digital pen, eliminating the need for traditional markers and cumbersome workspaces.

“Projection Summit has become a premier event for developing trends in the projection industry, and I am honored to be presenting at the conference,” said Alvarez. “In my presentation I will discuss the evolution of technology integration in the classroom, and how BenQ has driven innovation in education with the first 4-foot by 12-foot interactive whiteboard. I’ll discuss why we ventured into this space and how we developed this solution, and will go on to explore the near- and long-term expectations of this category.”

For Projection Summit’s presentations, BenQ is lending its SP920P high brightness DLP® projector, which is packed with features including 6000 lumens, a high 2000:1 contrast ratio, VIDI™ technology, BrilliantColor™ processing, independent 3D color management, Crestron® certification, and more. In addition, the company is lending its SP891 projector for use at InfoComm 2011 educational sessions. Ideal for presentations in venues of any size, the SP891 offers high brightness of 4500 ANSI lumens, a high 3000:1 contrast ratio, and a full 1.07-billion-color palette.

BenQ’s interactive digital whiteboard solutions along the company’s latest projectors will be on display at InfoComm 2011 in booth 943 (Hall A).
