TAIPEI, TAIWAN, November 1st, 2013 – BenQ, an internationally renowned provider of digital lifestyle innovations and LED monitor expert, proudly unveils today the debut of its EW40 series MHL monitors: the 24” EW2440 and the 27” EW2740. Stunning from every angle, the new monitors boast a sophisticated minimalistic appeal with an ultra slim bezel, exclusively designed and patented smartphone holder* and seamless IO port integration. Featuring MHL, the next-generation HD connection, the monitors allow audiovisual enthusiasts to connect their smartphones and gain access to a wide range of mobile content, from documents and photos to FHD videos. Together with BenQ’s state-of-the-art visual optimization technologies, including the new Cinema Mode and Flicker-free technology, a cinema-class “mobile-to-big-screen” experience is all you’ll get.

“The growing usage of mobile smart devices and the expansion of content availability have fundamentally altered the ways consumers access digital content,” said Peter Chen, General Manager of BenQ’s Technology Product Center. “The new EW series MHL monitors are built catering to the changing consumer demands in today’s content-rich world, particularly when it comes to the use of multiple screens and digital content sources. The newly incorporated MHL connectivity will bring more ease and flexibility to mobile-to-monitor entertainment while our visual optimization technologies bring consistently high-quality images across all digital content sources.”

Supersized and Super Sensational Visual Enjoyment
A key feature of the new EW series monitors is the MHL connection, which ensures flawless streaming of digital content from any MHL-equipped Android smart device. This allows users to browse websites, watch videos, play games and review documents on a full 24” or 27” screen without the need of a personal computer or laptop. To ensure a truly dynamic cinema-class visual enjoyment, BenQ added a brand new feature: Cinema Mode, which is enabled by BenQ’s color processing technology to automatically process and fine-tune video content to perfection, preserving vital details often lost during the process of brightening darkened scenes. Another notable feature is the Super Resolution feature simulates high-resolution images with boosted pixel density of the original video source to bring an enhanced viewing experience to all.

Eye-Care Design for Greater Viewing Comfort
Besides switching to a bigger screen, selecting a monitor that comes with eye-friendly features also helps users cope greatly with eye discomfort caused by viewing a digital display over prolonged period of time. Featuring BenQ’s exclusive Flicker-free technology, which adopts a unique de-flickering backlight circuit controller, the new monitors are free of flickering backlight regardless of brightness levels, effectively relieving eye fatigue and headaches. Users may also use Low Blue Light Modes to reduce harmful blue light emission significantly and prevent macular degeneration, including the Multimedia Mode, Web Surfing Mode, Office Mode and Reading Mode. Of which, the Reading Mode is designed to simulate the experience of reading actual
