Can I project 4K movie played with external software on a laptop that does not support 4K?

Yes, InstaShow supports any content projection with "Extend screen" or "Duplicate screen" as long as the content can be played on a laptop. The output resolution will be up to full HD by WDC10/WDC10C series, 4K 30Hz by WDC20/WDC20C series and 4K 60Hz by WDC30/VS20 through HDMI port 1.
