Why is my GV50 showing battery limitation warning after firmware update?

07-07-2026

We have introduced a new battery protection feature for the GV50 and GV50P projectors to ensure safe and optimal performance.
The system now actively monitors your battery's health and usage patterns. If the battery reaches a critical state, you will receive a notification advising you to contact BenQ Support for a professional check-up and replacement.
You will see this notification whenever you turn on the projector or wake it from sleep mode (after being asleep for more than 10 minutes).

  • What happens if I ignore the warning?

For your safety, if the battery continues to be used after the warning appears, the system will eventually disable the battery functionality entirely.

  • Can I still use the projector?

Yes. Even if the battery is disabled, you can continue to use your projector by keeping it connected to a power source.

  • How will I know if the battery is disabled?

Aside from the notice message, the LED indicator on the projector (power button) will blink purple.

  • What should I do if I see these warnings?

If you receive a battery warning or notice the power button blinking purple, please contact your local BenQ Support team for further assistance and to arrange for a battery replacement.

If you have any questions, please contact BenQ Support for further assistance.
