BenQ turns heads with their 27” LCD Monitor debut – the M2700 Full HD 1080p picture quality outperforms comparable TVs

02-13-2010

February, 2010 – BenQ Australia officially entered the 27” LCD monitor segment today with their Full HD 1080p M2700HD, a crossover IT/CE innovation fusing work and play into a single display.

The 16:9 LCD monitor outperforms similarly-priced and sized TVs by delivering better sight and sound via a super-high 50,000:1 DCR, 400-nit brightness, patented Senseye® Human Vision Technology, and an exquisite 10-watt EmbracingSound® surround sound system. Comprehensive connectivity that outsmarts televisions includes dual HDMI 1.3 connectors, component, composite, and SPDIF to effortlessly host all office and entertainment needs.

Positioned as a multi-function display for work as well as a central home entertainment hub, the Full HD 1080p 27” M2700HD impresses both in audio and visual capability. Ideal as a main desktop display, multi-monitor setup, or as a second display to a notebook, the large-format 27” size affords higher work productivity with less scrolling and more content display.

As an entertainment centerpiece, the M2700HD visually outperforms similar-sized/-priced TVs, most notably by displaying in Full HD 1080p (unlike comparable TVs which display in 720p). Senseye Human Vision Technology innately optimizes picture quality via six proprietary calibration techniques encompassing brightness, dynamic contrast ratio, hue, saturation, 3D noise reduction, and dual-trace sharpness. Furthermore, Senseye 3 digital image enhancement calibrates true colors in all multimedia and office display scenarios via the 6 preset viewing modes : Standard (office and Internet), Movie (DVD and TV), Game, Photo, sRGB (for 100% colourconsistency across all sRGB devices), and Eco (for power-savings) modes.

The native 16:9 aspect ratio likewise promotes uncompromised definition, true-to-source proportions without distortion, and the assurance that every pixel on the screen is utilized.

Complementing visual prowess is theater-quality sound made possible by EmbracingSound, a new stereo surround technology that enables the listener to experience their content’s full spatial information. Five surround sound modes (Standard, Movie, Game, Pop, Rock) offer an unrivaled multimedia experience exuding from the integrated 10-watt sound system.

Whether for work or play or both, the M2700HD has the multi-tasking user conveniently connected to all digital devices without the hassle of unplugging, switching, and reconnecting cables. Thirteen connectors for video in, audio in, and audio out include dual HDMI 1.3 inputs for high-bandwidth and deep-coloursources such as set-top boxes, gaming consoles, and Blu-ray players. Handy component, composite, and SPDIF connecters further accommodate all traditional AV devices (like VCRs, DVD players, and camcorders). A smart remote control caters to TV-style viewing, enabling the user to switch video sources, adjust audio options, and access the OSD from the couch, the bed, or other distance.

RRP for M2700: $ 799.00.
